GM is issuing a massive stop-sale over engine issues:

Affected models include (6.2L V8 Only)…

2021-2024 Cadillac Escalade
2021-2024 Cadillac Escalade ESV
2021-2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
2021-2024 Chevrolet Suburban
2021-2024 Chevrolet Tahoe
2021-2024 GMC Sierra 1500
2021-2024 GMC Yukon
2021-2024 GMC Yukon XL

What we know—the connecting rod and/or crankshaft engine components in these vehicles may cause engine damage or failure.

And parts are not available at this time.

“Until further instructions are received, involved vehicles that are in dealers’ possession… must be held, and not delivered to customers.”

Sheesh.

Precisely why I decided to get a 2018 rather than a newer model. The engine issues of the 2018 exist, sure, but not nearly as rampant as anything post-2020.

We used to build things. Great things

How do you eff up one of the most powerful, reliable, fuel-efficient engines ever?

This is not good news for GM.

Those engines were bad enough with the failure prone DOD/AFM system.

Now some are not even making it a few hundred miles before cratering the rod bearings.

Gubment Motors. Building shitboxes for 100 years and still can’t get it right.

For starters, being forced to install bogus cylinder deactivation technology to meet unrealistic CAFE standards imposed by our Government.

The latest rod bearing failures, who knows.

things were built for the owner to maintain..

Now they're built to be brought in to the dealership where they can get more out of the owner.

Honestly, they're way too late on this. The real world failure #'s specific to the 6.2 are astronomical.

Lots of repeat Tahoe/Yukon buyers are getting fricked, bad, and I doubt they will be interested in buying a GM again anytime in the future.
