I would absolutely avoid buying a GM vehicle for six months after the strike is settled.

Rattles (coke bottles in cowl/frame areas), missing screws/bolts, crossed wires; all that's gonna be a real thing.

I’m not even involved in your discussion with 777 but you definitely cherrypicked some of the wiki entries. Reading some of the other stuff definitely makes them sound like a makeshift union.

Just saying.

Why should I want universal healthcare? I already pay for good healthcare.

Why pay for good healthcare when you can pay more for ultra shitty healthcare?

The AMA is not close to being a union. That's laughable.

And why, pray tell do we have those laws and entities? That is not even mentioning 40 hour work weeks, paid vacations, paid sick days, paid holidays, etc, etc....
I’ll give you a clue.... It’s because of unions....

You are absolutely right!

Remember my story of working flooded vehicles after the Tulsa Memorial Day Flood back in 1984?

That was one of the top 60 GM dealerships in the nation that got flooded, roughly 80 vehicles total. 1984 was a year GM very narrowly averted a UAW strike. We found all kinds of loose screws/bolts, missing seals (wind/road noise generators essentially), misalignments...all kinds of shoddy and obviously intentional "defects".

Rather odd mindset on display: "We want more money so we're gonna hurt the employer that pays us to get it!"

UAW is a parasite that is gonna kill its host.

This is generally a good idea without a time frame.

That might do it.

The new Vettes are looking good, but I'm gonna pass, especially now.

Got some small-minded people working the line.

They would rather 100% of $10 than 10% of $1000.

So when you get a serious illness, the government looks at your survival odds and how much the treatment will cost and decide its not worth it and deny you from getting treated?

Even if universal healthcare passed, the UAW will just want all the money GM previously paid for health benefits to just get converted to salary anyway. So employment wages and benefits would still be about the same

Janky, I'll tell you, you can't beat the Tundra for reliability.

It will lack bells and whistles, but it'll go every time and won't have too many bad habits.
