The lack of Carplay and the really terrible infotainment setup is why I foolishly didn't buy a 200 series Land Cruiser while they were still being built.

No offense Baw, but that’s RETARDED.
200 is THE most valuable suv used.

That company should have been allowed to die 20 years ago. They do nothing but build pieces of shite and take advantage of people. They never learn their lessons.

Just make sure you turn off the collection and sharing of telemetry data. They aggregate and sell it. I assume other brands do this too, but I've only driven Fords for the last 15 years.

My favorite part is the way the “privacy notice” only ever seems to pop up when the vehicle is moving at 30+ mph, and then disappears on its own in like 5 seconds if you don’t press anything.

They could have it pop up while the vehicle is in park, or allow it to stay on the screen until someone presses “dismiss.” But then folks would actually be able to read it, and we can’t have that.

They were allowed to live since they employ a shite ton of UAW members, things would be a little different if they were a non-Union shop.

Apple CarPlay is the only option I care about in a vehicle, guess that eliminates GM

This. Looks like my next truck will be another F-150 or a Ram.

It’s the funniest thing that Ford expects you to pay for their navigation system on subscription plan

You've always had to pay for native map updates, going back 15 years. It was usually available once a quarter, and was over $100, IIRC.

I use FM transmitters in my 69 Impala, 98 Sierra, and 05 Silverado.

So you will have to pay to use your own vehicles Bluetooth

As if paying 90k for a piece of shite isn’t bad enough

Why can’t I just get a V8 4 door stick shift 4x4 with manual roll up windows and a AM/FM radio with Bluetooth

Can you still even do that yourself? New vehicles are so built into everything electronically. I’m sure a pro can do it but long gone are the days of buying a 20 dollar wiring kit from wal mart and popping the dash off and a pulling two tabs and out comes the radio

Crutchfield will walk you through it. No worries.

But you do have to get wiring harnesses and mounting kits.

I kind of miss high school where about once a month we completely redid the sound systems in our trucks. Homemade subwoofer boxes, amps, speakers, a ton of cheap 5 dollar tweeters hanging out the snap in plastic next to door frame by wires and electrical tape.

Same. I’ve still got a pair of Jensen coax’s mounted in boxes for “back-up” or the camp when needed.

They will prob never be needed but they are not getting sent to the street. Ever.

I remember being happier than a 2 dicked dog with an analog alpine, cassette, and Jensens.
