Is Afghanistan really all that dangerous right now, for ordinary people? I'm not saying I'd want to go walk around there, but if you're just Habib the Apprentice Goat-Herder are people really gonna frick with you? Not sure I buy it.

Take any area, like Louisiana, that has been controlled by Democrat politicians for generations, remove them from the list, and the US shoots up 100 spots.
I still laugh at people that think Louisiana is a "red" state. This state has been run by Democrats for 95% of its miserable life. It should shock no one that it is a borderline third world country now.

Based off their COVID-19 responses, I’d rather live in the worst New Orleans slum than any of those top ten. Sure it might not be peaceful, but at least you’d be free.

Crime stats are a part of it, but this group also considers access to small arms, hate crimes, and “fear” into their equations. Also those blaming Biden, you really think some international group is not blaming Trump too? They bring up his post election reactions as well as Jan 6th.
Oh and the militarization involvements are a huge factor in their equation it seems. So of course the US is going to rank low while some of these European countries rank high.
