Amen.

Thanks. Wish we could do it backpacking, but not sure how feasible it will be for us. However, hiking 10-12 miles a day is tollerable for us.

Poia lake has a cave system on the east side of the lake that has an underground waterfall. Worth the trip

The ranger-led hike to Grinnell is worth it. Good information

WTF? I've always thought Glacier National Park was in Alaska.

Glacier Bay. It's part of a huge Unesco heritage site that includes Wrangell-St Elias, Kluane and Tashenshini. Larger than some States.

Was there in June. Very crowded GTTSR and Lake McDonald lodge area but Highline spectacular and you lose all the noobs and seers after 1/2 mile or so and continue to Granite Park Chalet and get picked up at the Loop. Unreal hike have to say most amazing I've been on.
Suggest you can avoid all crowds and have a very scene drive along North Fork Road along the Flathead River on western side of the park and a great hike around Lake Bowman as a day hike and its just spectacular. Along the way have lunch at the wacky but delicious Home Ranch Bottoms run by an E Texas transplant named Shawn. After that 10 minutes down the road you come to the settlement of Polebridge which leads you to a ranger station and on to Bowman Lake. Not even mildly crowded.

I love the mountains and Montana but I'm not afraid to admit that I am scared shitless of Grizzly bears. Snakes - meh. I realize that it's an unreasonable fear but it is there nonetheless.
