Most of them enjoy the art of making their own costumes, & dressing up in costume is fun.
this chick is a badass. Alicia Marie Body Insane body & killer costumes. Her Mortal Kombat costumes are my favorite. You gotta do a lot of scrolling to get to them.

Just to support a thread to distract from Covid/Riots:
I knew a couple young models who are or were into cosplay/costumes and could have been considered nerdy. One was interested in hair and makeup, and began self-photographing her makeup and hair. Then she and her friend started dressing up in costumes for Halloween. I saw them at a party where the friend rocked this Alice costume, and was basically a clone of the blonde below but with better hair.
