Sure the top 100 girls you see in NYC are better than Baton Rouge. But per capita, there are probably more hot chicks out of 100 you'd see walking in the proverbial Quad at LSU than in Washington Square Park.

I lived in NYC for a year and due to sheer numbers and transplants there are a lot of hotties. Percentage wise I'd say it's lower than a lot of other places . I rarely met natives that were hot. And a lot are there because they think they'll be fashion designers and actresses but most will end up doing nudie shoots before they head back to live with their parents in Pensacola or wherever.
ETA - I've only spent a few weeks in L.A working so I don't have a strong opinion on it.

People from all over the world live in New York City. All of those model-esque girls in Manhattan you see most likely aren't from NYC.
I'm assuming when people claim the hottest girls are in the South, they are talking about girls actually from the South, regardless of whether or not they moved to New York to have a modeling career.

It's not just that. The girls are way hotter per capita in those areas. The percentage of fatties is lower and the girls just hold themselves to higher standards than your typical bayou country super fest patron.

Just got back from NYC and there are plenty of hot girls. The difference is that you have to walk by 40 to see a hot one, the positive is that there are over 100 per block. Not to mention that's the nice part of town, travel a few streets off the strip and the pickings are slim. All in all there are pretty girls in every corner of the globe, just very likely to find them in certain places such as sorority houses, 5th ave, sunset blvd, and the playboy mansion.

Probably true due to walking being more common. But I'm sure there are plenty of fatties in Queens, Staten Island, etc. that one doesn't typically associate with "NYC".
