Be careful...,this time of year there will be possibly snow and ice at the rim. I’ve seen people pay no attention to the ice and slip really close to the edge. Dress warmly.

From what I’ve seen, foreigners act like children in the danger zones. They literally have no clue. Getting way too close, walking fast, not paying attention, etc

The foreigners that visit GC make for interesting people watching though.

From the loud and obnoxious Germans to many of the Asians with every single one carrying a massive camera.

On my first visit to the Grand Canyon, this is what surprised me most. The entire place was crawling with foreigners.
And lots of old foreign gals over 60 wearing
clothes like New York hookers!

Went there when Auburn played Oregon in the National Championship. Flew in to Vegas for two days, one day at the canyon, south rim, then down to Glendale for the game. Just a quick trip but our first time to all those locations

Stayed in Flagstaff. It was cold as hell. But the Embasy Suites has a hell of a happy hour. Drove up to the south rim. I was wearing blue jeans and a damn hoodie. It was 20 deg with about 4 feet of snow and 40 mph winds. Spent most of the day in the car. No way in hell we were getting close to the rim.

If it were not for the football fans, they could have closed the park. Didnt see 10 people there were not dressed in game gear.

Dress warm is great advice

When I went to Horseshoe Bend, it was incredibly windy, and this little Asian kid's hat blew off of his head, towards the edge, and the kid ran to try and catch it, and probably would have ran right off the edge had his mother not caught him.

People are really dumb at these places. I was with my ex gf and two of her friends, and I felt like their parent telling them to be careful because they were being pretty stupid too.

It's one of the natural wonders of the world.

So only natural that foreigners want to visit.

Also...it's only a 4 hour drive from Vegas(to South Rim national park). Think about how many visiting the U.S. would want to visit Vegas...since GC is close by...they incorporate it in their trip.

Tour guide told us an average of seven people die every year from falls.

Many get blown off the rim as they lean over and don't realize the gust that come up as the wind his and goes vertical up the cliff edge.

I went to peer over a steep arse area but I crawled on my belly to look. It was unprotected and no way in hell was I becoming a statistic

Trying to take a selfie that went wrong?

Saw a kid fall to his death on the Going to the Sun Road in Glacier this past July. He got out of the car to take a selfie over a steep little creek...stepped over the barrier turned around, slipped and swan dived over 100 ft.
His mom slid down on her butt all the way down after he fell to be with him. Was Rough.

The park guide said that way more people die from falls and stupidity then from bears, wildlife, etc at these national parks

2 hours for someone in the family to notice her missing?

I'm sure they were actively looking for her and reported her missing once they realized they couldn't find her on their own.

I could never take my hypothetical future children to the GC because I'd just be a nervous wreck the entire time.
