I admit I didn't care for GG at first. The whining voice was annoying.

However I saw him on Up All Night a few times, and he did some funny bits.

But what really made me a fan was discovering his Amazing Colossal Podcast, my fave podcast ever. For someone interested in the golden age of show biz, it's like hitting paydirt. I wonder if the show will go on without him.

Now they are together again, forever...

On one appearance, he told a story about being hired to open for the Go Go’s for one the band’s comeback concert tours. He said that he got out on the stage and saw a sea of middle aged moms and their young daughters. He proceeded to do his normal, filthy stand-up set. He didn’t get to open for the Go Go’s again.

Yep. That story has been mentioned a couple times. What really set him off was the promoters told him to work clean since there were kids in the audience so of course Gilbert said every count joke he could think of

If you’ve never heard The Aristocrats joke, go to YouTube.

I absolutely abhor that joke and don't understand how any decent person thinks that it's clever or funny.

It's just vile and rotten. And I'm not some goody two shoes- I love Trevor Bauer type rough sex with crazy chicas who've daddy issues as well as edgy humour. But that Aristocrats joke is just awful.

I’m in the “he ain’t funny” camp. Saget, Williams, norm, bobcat, etc. none were funny.

Gottfried was funny, but of that group you listed I only genuinely cared for Norm's style of humour. He was in my top 5 with Chappelle, Hedgeberg, Seinfeld, etc.

Saget and Bobcat were unbearable. Hated them and their awful senses of humour.

Is "long illness" code for cancer? People are always so cryptic. Died suddenly. Etc.

Most obits used to say heart attack, lung cancer, car accident, etc. Then people got cryptic about what were obvious AIDS deaths and even tried to disguise them.

“Geoffrey left his hometown of Bogalusa at age 18 and moved to San Francisco, where he worked in the fashion industry. He died at age 31. Please donate to the American Heart Fund.”

Now it seems everyone leaves out the cause of death, though I’ve seen a few COVIDs and brave battles with cancer mentioned. Not sure why so many are so secretive about it these days.

He did a great bit about "The Myth of The Female Orgasm."

"I myself have been with several women and not one achieved an orgasm! What does that tell you?"

Worst 8 months ever. Norm dies, Saget dies, Gottfried dies. Who's next?

Norm had a casual sense of humor. Not in your face styles like some others had.
