Giant Man Eating Octopus in the Caribbean ?

My son and I are big fans of River Monsters but holy frick, this last one was something else. Then Diane Rehm show has a guy on talking about how smart animals really are and one of the most intelligent animals of all is the damn Octopus. I have heard stories for years about divers seeing really big Octopus, being attacked, and massive liars with bones everywhere they didn't stick around to see but this is starting to look like this thing may exist. We know they can get to 600lbs and 30 feet but what if they can really get to 1000lbs and 45-60 feet?
Since they live in deep water, generally hide from people, etc and don't have skeletons we don't know a ton about them. Something else to think about when snokeling this Summer. lol
