They are free for a time, then you have pay for older episodes once they go in "the vault"
Just pay for the whole thing.
Just pay for the whole thing.

Thanks for getting back so quickly. I may have to download it. Might be good for a slow day at work.

Why are you guys downloading?
I have the stitcher app on my iphone and it automatically updates all the podcast I put in my favorites list. Every evening i click on the app and it shows a list of my favorites and when the latest episode of each dropped and all i have to do is click and listen.
but Kings of Kings spans the great persian empire and cyrus the great. He takes an angle with an eastern perspective to an extent opposed to us in the western world usually views it, with good vs bad, greeks vs Persians. Although a lot of his views come from Herododus' writings... I think it's great and i've learned maybe more from this series than any other one to date.

Basically my main complaint boils down to the fact that Carlin leaves us wanting more.
But this review doesn't.

Just download History of Rome by Jeff Duncan. You are welcome.

I had no idea he'd released part 3. I loved the first two parts in this series. I just started downloading part three and it looks to be 5 hrs long. Guess I'll be holding off on starting BfA again for a while.

Blueprint was amazing. As he progresses inti modern hiatory I think it has forced him to go longer.

Yeah. The new podcasts are free. After a while you have to pay for them.

Darth, anytime a historian begins his lecture with something that's untrue and inaccurate, that gives me pause and leads me to conclude that we are dealing with "popular history."
There may be some bleached human bones lying on the ground outside of Volgograd, but, Carlin exaggerates in his podcast.
I listened to Part I of Ghosts of the Ostfront. He also inaccurately quoted the Axis casualty figures for the Battle of France, 1940, by under some thousands.
HOWEVER, I agree completely with your overall assessment -- it presents highlights, it is incomplete in areas AND it requires reading of books to fill in the gaps.
He recommends Glantz's "When Titans Clashed", so, I certainly agree with him there. As I said before, any book on the Russian Front written before this century isn't going to have had the best access to the old Soviet archives.

Do you have footnotes proving your disputes?

Where did you dig this old fossil up?

Was my only real issue with the series besides what Darth said in wanting more. The bone fields of volgograd are widely believed to be overstated with no real evidence of their existence. And it's what he lead off with. For someone who's usually so meticulous in his research it was a disappointing inclusion.
