It may seem like a minor infraction to you but to a cop walking up to your vehicle, had he pulled you over at night- safety issue.

I said this once before, good idea to turn on your interior light if you get pulled over at night. Put everyone at ease.

Window tint is trashy

Wrong. It's useful, it serves a purpose, and protects the interior of the vehicle from sun damage. Why is there a law that takes away from my personal freedom, right to privacy, and diminishes the value of my vehicle?

That's such a chicken shite thing to do. Have you seen the tint on some cop cars?

It's especially maddening when just about all of the small police departments have their vehicle windows tinted to the max.

Two Walker cops passed me other other day (they were chasing a 4-wheeler off Pendarvis), and both had windows that were completely blacked out. Assholes.

How often do you pull over a police car?

If you want total "personal freedom", go to Somalia.

We've all agreed to have some laws here.

If you disagree with a specific one, work to have it changed.

Otherwise get used to the rule of law here and stop whining like a three year-old.

I don't like people with really dark tinted windows because I like to get some eye contact when I'm flipping people off in traffic.

A smart man once said don't get caught breaking 2 laws...in that spirit a warning if tint only issue for the stop and/or 10 days to fix it and ride by station to settle the ticket.

Why should cops get to ride around with whatever limo tint on units and the unmarked trucks/cars but the peasants have to be visible(and cooking). Its hot here and tint helps that. Frick'em.

LOL! That's not why he pulled the person over, that's the excuse to fish for something more.

I have illegal tint. I have never had an issue with it. Even been pulled over and the cop didn't say a thing about it.

Same here. don't drive like an a-hole and don't bring attention to yourself and all is well. Better yet when you do get pulled over be nice and repectful, it goes a long way. I have been pulled over for speeding (30 in a 25) and didn't get a ticket for either one, and the officer put his tint meter on my window so I could find out just how dark they were (bought the truck already tinted)

Exactly, there is an actual reason they have these limits.

Not saying I agree with the law about window tint, but obviously you had a lower percentage than what's legal. Technically, you were doing something wrong.

My cousin got his ophthalmologist to fill out a form that said he could have tinted windows because the 'light hurt his eyes'.

What kind of bullshite is that?

As if this doctor had never heard of sunglasses.

I'll never understand the desire by people to modify their vehicles such that it pushes the street-legality of said vehicle.
Whether its a tint or headlight location or Horsepower, you're a fricking retard asking for trouble by making these modifications.

Read the state law some time. It is maddening. Legislators put in an exemption for... themselves. Any elected official is allowed to have any tint they want.
