There should absolutely be some accountability for people that call in bogus reports, especially when that bogus report involves weapons.
I would like to know how these calls go down. Is it "Oh my God there's someone out here with a gun!!!" or is it "I saw someone holding something that might be a gun or resembles a gun. I thought you might need to send someone to check it out." Maybe there are problems from the call to the dispatch to the police.
I'm speaking only for this situation...I really have no problem with the Sterling situation. That's a totally different story.

Eh I don't know
He didn't die
And the crazies usually rally around some TPOS that likely had it coming. This guy seems like a decent guy.

This is one I would understand the black community getting behind. This one looks pretty awful.

yes this one is bad. those cops likely are going to be prosecuted and have to do some jail time
this one is just inexcusable. you have a good guy trying to help/protect a mentally-challenged kid from getting shot WITH his hands up? oh yeah this one is bad. i'd love to see the police statements in the report after this one
i did like the guy's interview in the hospital, too. i hope he doesn't go all extremist and stays relatively level headed

yeah I don't know how this one doesn't at least get attempted murder or something like that.

we really need the media to not cover this one....not possible, I know

There was only one shot, why are you prosecuting more than one?

this is the one that should be covered
The cop needs to lose his job and go to jail. There is justice that can actually be had in this case.

if its as cut and dry as the video makes it seem to be the cops are at fault here. Whoever fired the shot should be dismissed and yes the victim here will get paid.
They were setup a good 30+ yds away from him and had rifles? Dk why they couldnt have scoped him saw the toy truck and checked him.

I'm definitely interested to see the story of what made the cop start shooting.

exactly for goodness sakes the scope wouldve seen a toy car or my god do these guys not have binoculars to observe what this potential threat is?

I really hope you're not trying to draw a comparison between this guy and Sterling.

Forget Mike Brown/Alton Sterling, this one appears to be the one that warrants the coverage those 2 dudes got.

What a bad shoot. Good grief.
Outside of Miami Beach PD who recently reinstated their degree requirements, you only have to have a high school diploma or GED to be with Miami-Dade or Miami PD. A lot of studies show that cops with no college degree or military service are disciplined for violations at a significantly higher rate. I'm genuinely curious if he's one of those lower end qualifiers.

Right?

I think where he's coming from is that this one looks legit (although not sure how they'll claim racism as a black cop was at least partly involved) and will fan the fires caused by the those other ones shouldn't have gotten the coverage.

Pretty sure they all have their guns drawn
They got a call that someone had a gun and was threatening suicide...so coming in with drawn guns makes some sense. However, once they assessed that there wasn't a threat (which would have been pretty damn obvious had they observed and listened), the guns could have been put away.
