well that is awesome then because you FFMI is almost 26 which means if you havent juiced, you have been lifting and dieting hard for years upon years which is fricking awesome

understand though you are the extreme outlier and BMI is not meant for individuals like yourself or pro athletes or other outliers.

so bmi doesnt work for you...congrats, still works for 95% of the rest of america.

BMI is a shitty metric. I'm 5' 9". By this calculator, I could weigh 125 pounds and I would be at a "healthy" weight. That's complete nonsense. Even as a runner with less than 5% body fat, and a resting heart rate of 42, I weighed 135. 125 would be a walking skeleton.

before lifting i was 5'10 150lb BMI: 21.5, considered "healthy weight"

after a few years of consistent lifting i grew to 180lb with a BMI of 25.8 considered "overweight"

did lifting make me fat?

Everyone is an outlier.

Everyone is unique.

No one is average.

Generalizations cannot be applied to anyone.

No it was the excess calories that you ate.

Nah. Contrary to OT wisdom, I don't look like a concentration camp prisoner.

You would be about as healthy as you would be at 170, in a manner of speaking.

28.7

Need to exercise more and eat healthier, got to get this weight down.

edit: I know BMI isn't the best but I believe it should be combined with other measurements, like body fat, muscle percentage, etc. I have a scale that also takes things like water percentage, body fat, muscle percentage, and maybe a couple other things. IDK if it's accurate but at-least it gives me more data to evaluate my health. It's also good to get a yearly physical and blood work.
