Correct. The gas tax got dropped temporarily here in Kentucky and in the process they quietly passed a bill that now taxes a bunch of services that didn’t before.
I’d rather pay the gas tax and have my roads maintained
Lol if you think the gas tax money is only going to roads.

Feel good politics as usual.
For people commuting 300-500 miles a week, that's food on the table. A lot of folks got use to gas savings while working from home.
Going back to commuting to work 3-5 days a week has dealt a significant blow to the budget of many American households.

There shouldn’t be a surplus of tax collected and held by the state. Collect what is needed and return the rest.

The gas tax here is pretty strictly defined in what it can fund. It doesn’t go into the general fund where it can be manipulated easier into non-road construction maintainence.

Unlike most taxes collected by DOR, motor fuels taxes are deposited in the Road Fund as directed by the Kentucky Constitution and are appropriated by the General Assembly for the construction and maintenance of Kentucky's roads.

I stand by what I said. I don’t have issue with paying it to maintain the state roads I drive.

Brian Kemp FTW!
He's been a fantastic governor.

You are short sighted. You are losing the benefits of tax revenue. Kemp is trying to get Biden re-elected.
90% of people heading to Florida fills up with gas at least twice in GA. Kemp throwing away revenue to take the heat off Biden administration.

This would be a great melt but it's complete bullshite.

spends $709 more each month than they were two years ago and $202 more per month than last year.
709 x .074 = 52.46
202 x .064 = 14.95
the government is loving the artificial inflation by businesses. They are making a killing on tax revenue with the increase of prices. Easy way to increase taxes without having to pass any laws.
