Some of realize that laws are not perfect and there is reason and balance that has to be added with good judgement. I work with certain CFRs everyday in my job and there's a shite ton of gray area. Imagine that, laws aren't perfectly black and white and our government is far from perfect.

I'm not defending his behavior, you fricking imbecile.

I'm just saying a sexual battery charge is an extreme overreaction.

Knew that was going to happen, how about next time the guy doesn't slap a random woman on the arse especially when she's on live tv

Dude touched her butt without a hint of consent

Dude gave lame apology about trying to pat her on the shoulder.

Not shocked the dudes catching charges.

Now I don’t think he should be locked up with the key thrown away and forced to register as a sex offender. But a fine, some community service, etc is great. It was uncomfortable for her and should be more uncomfortable for him, but shouldn’t ruin his life as a first offense.

How about if they just tie him to a sheet of plywood and let her slap/punch him until she feels her power has returned and is vindicated?

If they did it on Pay-per-view and sent the money to some beaten women's charity, wouldn't it be a win for all?

A slap on the wrist does nothing.
A charge sets a precedent.

I’m okay with this.

There you go trying to use common sense on some of these idiots.

But it is. Dude was a dumb arse to slap a total stranger's arse and is now paying the penalty for it.

I mean ... if you’re so thickheaded that you don’t realize by this stage in your life that slapping a stranger’s arse on camera is not to be done, then odds are you’re going to need some extra reinforcement to help that lesson really sink in.

I agree. But I also bet a lot have had it happen to them and quietly wanted the guy that did it to them to have some consequences

So stupid. This guy is an idiot but a little forgiveness goes a long way. No way would I press charges if some random woman walked up and slapped my arse. People need thicker skin.

Get your husband to tell the guy something. Going to jail for this is ridiculous.

Seems pretty straightforward. And it’s a misdemeanor charge. I’m not saying you are guilty of this but I feel like a lot of people hear a charge like this and think it’s a statute akin to rape. It was written pretty explicitly here and fits this offense well.

Georgia Code
TITLE 16 - CRIMES AND OFFENSES
CHAPTER 6 - SEXUAL OFFENSES
§ 16-6-22.1 - Sexual battery
O.C.G.A. 16-6-22.1 (2010)
16-6-22.1. Sexual battery

(a) For the purposes of this Code section, the term "intimate parts" means the primary genital area, anus, groin, inner thighs, or buttocks of a male or female and the breasts of a female.

(b) A person commits the offense of sexual battery when he or she intentionally makes physical contact with the intimate parts of the body of another person without the consent of that person.
