This forum has turned into "he deserved to be choked to death!"
No one is saying that

It still doesn't justify him getting killed. Come on
Where did I say it justifies his death dumbass? Point out where. At no point did I say he deserved to die. Nowhere. Stop making unfounded assumptions.

You can question the exaltation of a bad human and be against the actions of the officer. It's a false dichotomy
Yep. You just can’t respect the flag because of your veteran grandfathers AND understand the plight of the black man!

Chauvin murdered a man. Can you believe these 2? So much thug on that street that day.

I couldn't down vote this enough. When I hit the little red downward arrow, it was like a fricking orgasm.

The guy was a scum bag. No question.
But how he died was police brutality.
The left’s reaction is disingenuous and opportunistic.
There’s no winning this shitshow.

Where do you get this information?

Fact. Doesn't mean he deserved to die

We have to be able to hold competing ideas in our mind if we are to be capable of critical thinking. The past behavior of this guy, though an important insight into his character , is not germane to what happened after he was face down and cuffed on the street. He can simultaneously have been a really bad human being and a victim of excessive police force.Which I think is the case here.

quote:No, martyrs are people who are killed for their beliefs. Whether any martyr is "GOOD" is a matter of perspective--whether you agree with the beliefs they were killed for.
What does that have to do with treating a clearly bad individual like a martyr? Martyrs are GOOD people who sacrifice for GOOD ideals.
George Floyd was neither of those things.
The officer should be dealt with according to law, but to suggest this man is some sort of saint is disgusting.
George Floyd was not a martyr, by definition, and no one is suggesting he is a "saint". He was a guy who was needlessly killed, but not for his beliefs. Whether he was "GOOD" or not misses the point.

Love how you mental freaks ALWAYS without fail, look into someone’s past the first chance you get to sky scream that “well, he had it coming/deserved it in the end/was always a bad apple/never reformed/etc.”
Have you looked at what’s happening to college coaches and Drew Brees?
Both sides are fricking insane. Don’t act like whatever side you’ve chosen is correct in what they’re doing.

And tweets or text messages are in no way equivalent to a violent past .
Are you saying its unjust to bring up.George Floyd's violent criminal past?

That seems pretty obvious to everyone that isn't completely delusional or stupid in my opinion.

Besides the really super low IQ, it’s just Ideological Possession. People willingly suspend Critical Thought in the service of their larger ideology.

Then: People think he is a perfect person.
