First of all, it's not "y'all." Secondly not all doctors offices are in electronic communication with each other. Not every doctor can provide you with the consent about the procedures another doc may have to do, especially since its not their field of expertise.
Honestly, you seem to be fussing about having to forth such little effort that it sounds pitiful.

They aren't waiting for hours in doctor's offices. Ever. So you tell me. And why the frick would they BS me? I've known them for decades. Yet when they come home to take care of their parents they are shocked at the wait times. So eat a bag of em, brah.

All of your complaints are valid.
Also the appointments are booked before the doctor even gets there and underbudgeted on time.
When one person needs extra time, the whole schedule gets pushed back.

I don't wait hours either in general. Occasionally, if it's a doc who has procedures in the AM I'll find myself waiting, but, so what? What if the procedure didn't go off as smoothly as expected? I suppose I'm not as self-centered as some who believe they shoukd be seen at the exact time of the appointment.
Because socialized medicine is political and they might be advocating for it with you..
And now you advance our discussion to a more intellectual level.

Humana isn't going bankrupt. And this was a private policy, not an ACA policy. My agent says insurance companies see an out on insuring individuals and they are acting on it. No money to be made on individuals.
You certainly know what caused this, yes?
Of course, you're probably trolling us and I need stronger coffee.

You need a tin foil hat with that one? These are right wingers through and through.

Tin foil because I mentioned socialized medicine is a political topic and your friends might be advocating for it with you? That makes no sense.

I know it's a counter to the other thread but most of this shite is insanely stupid.

It is a fact that doctors offices set appointments for times before the dr is even in the building. The theory is that you fill out paperwork and then the dr sees you right away, but in my experience it doesn't play out like that

Stop making me pay for an office visit so you can renew my annual prescription for allergy medicine. I've been taking it daily for five years now. So in your professional opinion is safe for me to continue taking it? We'll no shite.
The annual prescription renewal involves blood work. I'm glad blood work is done to ensure my medications are still effective.

Slow your roll, Doctor Oz. Let's review the bidding.
Everybody but doctors: Why am I waiting two hours?
Doctors: We blame the government required paperwork.
Everybody but doctors: But you are making the paperwork far harder than required.
Doctors: Why are you whining about paperwork?
Because it was your excuse for making me wait ridiculous lengths of time! Oh, and you aren't helping yourself on that "we aren't arrogant" point there, Marcus Welby.

Tin foil because you say anybody who says healthcare is better in Europe must be a socialist.
These are bankers and execs, George Noory, about the least socialist people you will find on the planet. Some of them have doctors in their families. And they say our system sucks compared to Europe.

Where did I say that?
I can find people who say the opposite about their care in Europe. In fact, I have neighbors are from England and Canada who both say they prefer our system. The Canadians moved here because of it.

No doctor arrogance at all here, folks. Nothing to see. Move along.

Yeah. You just remembered. bullshite.

How are the doctors making the paperwork harder? You think they want y'all to fill out all of that? Who said the schedule gets behind because of paperwork. I suggested that it's either procedures that involve more complications than expected or office visits where complications arise. Things happen and a twenty minute visit can easily turn into forty. Would you prefer the doctor to ignore that patient in favor of you?
And you're not helping yourself on the "I'm not a self-centered complainer who wants to be seen immediately, and shouldn't have to tax my little hand signing consents, because I know better than the doctor about what he should have me do" angle there Joe Blow.

What? You said I should eat a bag of dicks. My response was arrogant?

I mentioned it right after you mentioned your friends. That has nothing to do with "just remembering." You gave your anecdotal evidence and I gave mine in return.

My take. I haven't seen my GP in over 5 years. Had to go in about a week ago. 2 dam hours waiting.
I'm good friends with my GP.
Oh, yes, I did have to fill out some paperwork, but nothing on insurance. All that info is in the putters.
Now, I go down to Ochsner Transplant center once a month. 99% of the time, my wait is less then 10 minutes. Most of the time I am early and they take me right it.
Reason, that group of doctors do clinic one week a month and rotate out. Other doctors cover their hospital calls. Every morning they all get together for a meeting to discuss cases that are in the hospital and cases for office visits. GP doctors can not do this.
Paperwork. I hear more doctors bitch about doing this crap, but they have to cover all bases. Many older doctors hate computers and their skills towards them suck just like mine.
Yes, they fuss them too!
So, bitching about waiting to see a doctor is dumb. There are only X amount of them to see X amount of people. If one really needs to see a doctor in a life threating condition, I bet any money that person would jump thru any hoop that needs to be done without any bitching and being very thankful after the fact. Been there, done that.

Keep up, grasshopper. It was one of the very first points made in this thread.

Nope. I don't mind about a half hour wait. After that, it's pretty much on you, Hawkeye. Most businesses can achieve that. Why can't you?
And don't give me the line of crap about old people complaining of their bowels holding up the line. If you are your staff haven't figured out how to manage people, well, you are prolly in the wrong business.
