Lol. No one in the trades drug test. I know people that have a contract at an afb, they don't even drug test. Background, yes. No whizz quiz.

I know farmers who hire crackheads seasonally to drive combines and grain trucks and actually buy them crack or meth to take so they stay awake and work 20 hours to beat the rain

Just as a quick reset for the conversation, let’s add some math to this debate as I am beginning to sense entirely too much sympathy in this thread for illegal immigrants.

fairus.org: The Financial Burden of Illegal Immigration

since I doubt most of you will take the time to open the link, I’ll borrow the figures fairus.org uses to summarize:

Total Government Expenditures on Illegal Aliens:

Total Federal Expenditures: $66,449,136,000
+ Total State Expenditures: $115,608,730,000
= $182,057,865,000

Total Tax Contributions from Illegal Aliens:
Total Federal Taxes Paid: $16,219,495,000
+ Total State Taxes Paid: $15,172,140,000
= $31,391,635,000

So, Total Tax Burden of Illegal Aliens:
$182,057,865, 000 total expenditures on illegal aliens
- $31,391,635,000 total tax contributions from illegal aliens
= $150,666,230,000

$150 billion dollars in 2023.

Now, explain to me how illegal immigrants are a net positive for our economy. What do they contribute that offsets $150 billion?

And that’s 2023. We let in another 3-5 million illegal aliens in 2024. This problem will only continue to snowball. And that’s just the economics. Seriously, consider what you are saddling the next generations of Americans with; by just throwing your hands up, and saying, “our blueberry prices and sheetrock installation are gonna skyrocket”.

Not to mention the impact on our medical industry, impact on housing availability, impact on public schools, etc. Not to mention the vast vast majority of these people despise us, our culture, and our history. They have no intention to integrate into our society. They only want to take and stick their hands out for tax payer funded assistance.

It’s a lazy and ignorant argument proving you either have an ulterior motive to support illegal immigration or you’re a brainwashed sheep. It’s anti-American.

If the gov put huge fines on employers for hiring illegals, the illegal immigration problem would solve itself.

A business model dependent on illegal things is a flawed business model. Don't complain that you aren't allowed to break the law anymore.

So are others going to line up to do the work? Good they are getting illegals out, but are the ones working the high hanging fruit? You don’t see Americans lining up to do physical work.

So here’s how this worked for hundreds of years. In early adulthood you went to work for someone and they taught you a trade. Somewhere around your late 30s early 40s you broke off on your own and started working for yourself while training the next generation.

But somewhere along the way we stopped doing that training part because we found it would be cheaper to hire cheap arse labor with a language barrier.

So how about we just go back to what worked for thousands of years.

Sure. Find people who do this work who will show up for work daily and can pass a drug test

I've tried to explain this to folks who I thought have common sense.

They have no idea that you just can't easily find folks to work hard in the heat, no matter how much you pay them.

Your an idiot. If youve ever worled or owned a construction business. Then you wouldn't mock this statement. In this line of work 90% of the guys are crackheads or felons or both. Dont show up half the time, live paycheck to paycheck. You 1099 these guys and get a tax break for hiring the felons etc
I figured out how to get around not hiring illegals and still be abke to hire people that would love to do these jobs and show up everyday, and pass drug test. Hire them from halfway houses. Bam

We just need more HattiesburgTiger5439s, and we’d have all the blue-collar manual labor this country needs

Look to his competition that will get all the jobs he won't be able to do.

During Trumps first term they raided and detained Peco foods in MS's labor causing them to be sitting on farm after farm of chickens ready for processing. Rather than just destroy them they sold them to Tyson and Koch foods for pennies on the dollar who then hauled them to their plants to be processed by their own illegals.

They busted a big site in NOLA the other day. The timetables on these projects are going to increase. A building that used to take 2 years to build can now be built in 8 months. It's about to back to 2 years.

CSB

but that’s still not great enough justification to willingly allow illegal aliens through our borders.
