It's got a 200 I6. 3 speed manual

I just upgraded to dual exhaust. Other upgrades include electronic ignition, electric choke, heavy duty suspension made for a 429 V-8, and power brake booster.

The tires are all black now, there's no more window tint and the paint isn't as nice as it was in this pic.

But it drives like a dream.

Gracias. It was originally silver with the 2 black stripes. I like the all black on black.

We've been wanting a similar year Camaro but just haven't stumbled upon one. Haven't been looking very hard though.

Traveler, that car is the tits

'71 Olds Cutlass Supreme SX

Only produced in '70 and '71. Total production of about 9k, with 1,800 '71 hardtops like mine. SX option came with the big block 455ci Rocket engine.

Numbers matching, mostly all original. Haven't done much to it except cosmetic. Would like to beef up the engine at some point, but can't do a rebuild myself.

Looks like you have made a lot of progress on your LS swap since your last pic post. You going back red with the pant? A few months ago, I was parked next to a 70 with the same setup and it was a very clean install. He said he had no problems with the install and wished it had done it sooner. I'm not quite ready to make the jump yet...but you never know.

They are always work in progress amirite?

Yeah, some progress was made, just converted headlights to electric, cleaning up under the hood, hiding coils, etc. I'm going back with red, but it will be the original '68 Rally Red ( believe the current color is '80 Corvette red). There is some body work that needs to be done, the Big Block wreaked havoc on the body. The engine dynoed at 683hp and the choppy idle caused spider web cracking to the front fenders.

Personally I will never own another carbed automobile, the difference is that profound. The cost of the swap adds up, lots of hidden costs cots in the swap as well as "while I'm at it" costs.

With that said, I highly recommend it. Its also nice to get 30mpg with the 6speed, at 75mph I'm turning around 1200rpms.

so no issues with fuel pressure, how did you regulate it from the fuel pump?

sorry for the question just really trying to understand the basic of EFI

Really just depends on the pump and the setup. Some will require a regulator some do not. Carbs require low pressure and mechanical pumps typically can handle up to 450hp give or take. In addition, many crate engines now do not have provisions for a mechanical pump, so electric is the only option. Beyond 450hp +/- you will need an electric pump. Electric pump are high pressure but the carb does not require that high of pressure so you'll need a regulator. EFI requires high pressure so
depending on the pump and requirements you may or may not need a regulator.

Just bought a 65 mustang. 289 with automatic transmission. Getting ready to but in new gas tank and some other upgrades. Considering the fitech fuel injection conversion. Anybody used that before?

'63 SWC is such a beautiful design, as this coming from someone who is not a big fan of mid-years. I will say form is better than function, you can see crap out of the rear windshield and the drum brakes are scary under hard braking.

That said, I could easily own one.

I agree, the vintage setup is more visually pleasing. But the temperamental behaviors (cold starts, vapor lock, idling issues) are non-existent with EFI. My carbed BB never left me, but had idling issues at red lights, guzzled gas, etc.

Easiest swap would be to swap a pullout Fox body 5.0/T5 if you didn't have to use the original 289.

1966 chevy c10. Been working on her for about a year. Has original straight 6 engine, 3 speed on the tree, and rides like a dream. I love getting it out on weekends and taking cruises with the windows down (no ac) It just takes you back to more simple times.
