Man, there are some dense arse f*cks on here.

The point is with any specialized product like king cake, its always best to get it at a bakery where it is freshly made and you know where it came from.

And the sushi part I got from this commercial, more of a joke but the point is the same. I've never actually seen a gas station sell sushi anyway, but I wouldn't get it if I had.

It was probably made a few months back, frozen, and then thawed once delivered. IWNEI

I like to know good places to buy a king cake myself. I'm in the Laffy area though

Kellers has the best in the area. Pouparts is decent also.

Dont listen to anyone saying meches, its a fricking overpriced jelly donut.

I pay less than that for a GOOD grocery store cake.

When I lived in BR, I loved king cakes from Ralphs. Now that we are in Covington, Ive been really impressed with the king cakes from Winn Dixie. And the fact its only 8.99 if it has a filling is even better. Im sure I'll find a better cake but for now it will def do.

Thanks that's exactly what I thought it would be. Had one from Manny Randazzos in New Orleans and was by far the best. Rouses freaking pump the mixed strawberry and cream cheese in from the sides in about 8 different places. WTF is that all about? No icing on top either just colored sprinkles. It sucked mule dick. Ended up throwing it away.

The best seven layer caramel cake I ever tasted came from a gas station in Alabama.

What's the big deal with "King Cakes"? It's just a fancy honey bun basically.

Thank yall for the Keller's suggestion as well.

Looking at kingcaker.com they have Keller's a perfect 12 of 12 rating and Meche's as a 9 of 12. Interesting comments as well.
