In middle school 12 years back I’d mash on popcorn shrimp from the gas station at 4 pm on the walk home. Never got sick. Quit being a vagina

One time I was at a 7-11 in a gritty part of San Jose at like 1 am.
This black dude takes a bag of Cool Ranch, pulls it open, goes to the chili and cheese dispensers and fills it up. Guy working he register says
"Hey what are you doing?"
Guy says "Makin me a Dorito Bag"

You've clearly never been in a gas station outside the lilly white suburb that contains your mother's basement.

You know what, this shite pisses me off.
Why? I’m not insulting him just saying a McDonald’s is no cleaner or any better food than your average gas station

And can’t beat drunk 3am at Dodges eating crispitos and chicken on a stick

actually bought a bag of links beef jerky and come to find out the expiration date was almost three years ago
I was really worried that I was going to die that day after I ate the entire bag of beef jerky but I was good to go
I’m not sure beef jerky really ever expires tbh

On the way to High School we would stop at Time Saver and get some sandwiches and Coke for breakfast. The regular Roast Beef sandwich had this relish spiced mayo that I can not replicate. Back then I could three sandwiches with a giant Coke.

If someone were to ask me, "Who would you think you can trust the most, is?"
"McDonald's manager" would be my first and only answer.

The website sucks, but I did an advanced search for EBR from Jan 1st to present day and it was loaded with gas stations.

A friend stayed over last weekend and got 3am drunk food from Circle K since it is walking distance. Everything he bought was expired
But this was the random microwaveable items nobody buys from gas stations. I wouldn’t be too concerned with popular stuff like Cheez It’s or nuts.
I could be wrong, but I’d have to guess that hot items are subject to at least some kind of inspection. It probably just isn’t too often and they probably get a heads up.
Depending on the state/county, food establishments are required to have someone with a food handlers license but it only has to be one person employed by the company and they don’t have to be there at all times so typically it’s just the GM. The certificate is just an online class anyway so that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re putting what they learned to work.

Allsups burritos, chicken bites, and sausage on a stick are legit.
Everything on the roller rack at Quik Trip is legit.
Otherwise I avoid most gas station food.
(never been to a Bucees or WaWa)

I used to live off has station hot dogs. The deal was something like 2 dogs for 2 dollars or similar? I didn’t die, so I’d imagine my body is now immune to all sorts of shite
