I actually bought a bag of links beef jerky and come to find out the expiration date was almost three years ago

I've noticed the sheet with health department grades in gas stations in Alabama for sure. Probably in other states as well, so I'm not sure I believe him.
ETA: The Chevron off the exit to my house has really good barbeque sandwiches and chicken fingers, even if it does take only 5 minutes to make.

Krispy, Popingos, Brothers, etc have their own polices and franchises are inspected like hell. And chains like 711 and race Trac too. Their corporate quality control peeps definitely keep tabs on em.
He's got to be talking about the mom and pop ones. It's not subjected to many government inspections so nobody is checking how long a chicken dick or hot dog sits there.

He started working at Mcdonalds when he was 16 years old. He is a good guy.
Retired after 48 years. This is a guy that worked, never was on disability or "social programs". Never took unemployment.

My grandmother's friend started making biscuits at Hardee's and retired in the mid 90's making over$200k as an area or regional manager. If you have a good work ethic, I feel like that is an easy industry to move up quickly.

Stopped at a truck stop over the summer and one of the employees was checking the hotdogs with a temperature probe and marking everything on a checklist.
