I missed the part where he said white people are being punished. Can you highlight that part? When Katrina hit my white church said it was punishment from God. He's not being racist his being an overly religious nut who tries to find a hidden meaning in everything.

Fuq him and the horse he rode in on.
Please go to church tomorrow and pray that he drowns.

frick him.
The State Government fricking around for 33 years and not funding the Comite Diversion Canal exposed a lot of people to unnecessary risk of flooding in events like this.

I agree that it could be taken out of context. I will not check his page for confirmation, though.

Baton Rouge proper is about 55/45 black/white.
The BR metro area is closer to 50/50 or maybe even 60/40 white/black.

From Woody Jenkins FB
quote:
I'M NOT SAYING WE ARE BEING PUNISHED. I don't really believe that, but I do suspect we are being TESTED and maybe CLEANSED. If you consider all the things this community has been through the past five weeks, the things we are going through tonight, and the things that we will experience over the next few days, you have to think something very profound is going on. We've had protests, demonstrations, a terrorist attack and murder of police officers, heart-wrenching funerals, and now unprecedented rain, flooding, and devastation with much more on the way. It's like something out of the Bible. You notice how in these times, everything that is trivial and unimportant — that we so often dwell upon — now seems so unimportant. What is wrong and evil seem even more unthinkable than ever. We focus on what is truly important — our loved ones, our friends, our community, our home, and our safety. It is a time to put away childish thoughts. It is time to think and act like a man or a woman of God. It is a time to cherish everything that is dear. It is a time to reach out to those in need and help. It is a time to truly be brothers and sisters in the Lord. I pray that we will pass this test, that we will be cleansed of the things that are wrong in our lives, and that we will emerge from all of this as better men and women with stronger faith, family, friends, and community. May God continue to guard and protect us as these next few days unfold!
