He doesn't even have a passport. What's he going to do, lay in the bed of a fruit truck?

Passports, specifically false ones, can be obtained.

Yea, I saw that movie too.
And to think I was actually missing something.

How many people just have a false passport guy they can call up at moments notice? False passport is a helluva lot harder to make than the fake ID you had in college to get into tigerland bars....

My sister ordered her fake ID online. Scans and everything. I'm assuming it would be a little harder to get a fake passport, but not much

Wasn't there originally a story that the victim had intervened on behalf of a woman that the defendant was harassing, or something of that sort?
I remember hearing something like that.
For what it's worth, to the downvoters, my previous reply should have been marked with sarcasm. I'm pretty damn sure this frat boy didn't just decide to beat up someone without some level of provoking. Not saying he's innocent, but I don't believe the deceased was just "minding his own business" either.

Jackson’s family told WWL-TV after his death that Ward was attacking a woman when Jackson stepped in to try to help her.
What kind of evidence do they have against Ward? Eye witnesses only or do they have video?

I goofed, I meant to say "best thing to happen for Ward". My brain said it but I didn't type it.
Defense attorney can almost make up any reason to disprove murder 2.

you avoid drinking so you don't murder someone?

Tulane and Broad jury will not take kindly to this kid.

Who's got the case? What's the fee likely to be? Flat fee? Flat if resolved before trial? How's that work in N.O.

Explain how a defense attorney can disprove that repeatedly stomping someone's head on the ground is not intent to kill or to commit great bodily harm. Is there a circumance where curb stomps to the head is not considered an intent to commit great bodily harm?
What else is there to disprove? That the victim died?

Lindsey Williams has it. No idea what he charges, he mostly worked as a public defender in Jefferson Parish, though he's in Orleans from time to time. I don't think there's any chance of it going to trial, but imagine you'd see a second attorney come on if it did.

Well, if you had anything you could argue as constituting provocation, sure.
But not gonna happen with these facts.

I haven't seen any video, and the dead guy can't testify
Posted on 6/8/18 at 1:17 pm to Hammertime
How long do y'all think he will be in prison for?

Any plea bargain should be taken.
It's that or the alternative is life imprisonment.
