The way to make money with garage sales isn't by having them. It is by going to them, and buying the items you can sell for more money.

Put a very large sign at the entrance: PRICES NON-NEGOTIABLE

We have a small family yard sale twice a year.
How do you accumulate so much junk that you can sell it off twice a year and net $1500 each time?

They won't care. Not that it matters. I told my wife never again.

These people pissed me off so much, that whatever we didn't sell I didn't leave with the trash, I packed it all up in my truck and brought it to the dump so that they couldn't get their greedy little rat hands on it.
Same. This one lady got to one of ours first thing in the morning. Wife had a little patio bistro set we listed for like $30 or something. Lady offered us 50% of the price, we told her no. She came back a couple of hours later, offering 75% off the price, we countered with her original offer of 50% off, and she said she'd be back at the posted end time of the sale. We didn't sell the set, and had everything we didn't sell at the end of the driveway for Goodwill to pick up. She came by a couple hours later while I was in the garage and started going through the stuff. I waited until I saw her grab the table and start hauling it to her car. I walked out and asked if I could help her. She said since we didn't sell it, she thought she'd take it off of our hands. I told her she was trespassing and stealing, and if she didn't put it back I was calling the police. She flicked me off as she drove off while I was laughing at her dumb arse. That was the best $20 I didn't make.
