I went to a sale this morning since it was less than a mile from my house.
Nothing but junk from what I guess was an old person's house. Old lady clothes, batches of yawn, magazines, crappy books, and cheap dishes, etc.

I guess if I'm going to do it I need to do like you and focus on spotting better "rich people" sales.

I bought one a couple months ago, 1961 Sears model (made by Coleman). I paid $5, it sold for $135

Everything I’ve ever bought at a garage/estate sale and is still at my house, fit into 5 large rubber totes. I only (mostly) deal in smalls.
I did buy three old MCM bar stools last weekend for $30. Trying to flip them ASAP

trust me those sales are the worst. those tightwads only throw out REALLY SHITTY stuff and overprice everything.

you gotta find a random middle class fancy older couple who is just clearing out after their kids left the nest.

The maps are cool, but I don't see how they hold any value, especially with the atlas in poor condition.

The lego is definitely going to bring a return... lego anything is worth something.

Griswold cast iron is a no-brainer.

The camera is cool... and some people collect those but I have no idea if that is a collectible one. Plus bummer that it has the name on it.

Train cars are almost certainly a score.

How is that lantern worth 100 dollars?

Those train cars for electric train sets could be worth a lot depending on which ones they are. My grandfather used to build those electric train sets and some of those cars and Lionel electric trains go for hundreds of dollars

My grandparents had a clock exactly like that flip one.

I like old maps, too; especially since they show defunct nations like the USSR, Yugoslavia, a split Germany, Czechoslovakia, and old territories of the U.S. (Alaska and Hawaii) and old territories and dominions of the British Empire, etc.

I find some time to time. I once bought a 1964 Makers Mark Hand Select (personalized label) for $100. I drank it.
I found a Southern Comfort (1964-1972 wa as close as I could age it). I opened it. It tasted like shite back then as well.

Do a quick search of “Vtg Coleman lantern” on eBay. You will shite. Search sold auctions.

I remember that Apogee rocket.

That Drifter package doesn't look all too mint, however.

Why are these unicorns? Is there a huge market for old model rockets?

Old, in package Estes rockets bring $$$$. The Drifter package has some damage, but it’s still sealed.
I once bought an entire collection of 100+ rockets (new in package and built). I paid $200, sold for $3000+
