I got a new one a couple years back.. my advice is to get the quietest one you can find.. i went with a Chamberlain, which is the same company that makes Liftmaster, and it works really well and quiet.. think i got it off Amazon for $200 or $300, then paid a handyman to install it.

Do you just need the remote? Or an actual new unit inside the garage?

You can get universal remotes at Lowe’s or Home Depot. It’ll cost $15-$20. You’ll have to program it.

Amazon sells all kinds of garage door remotes for $10 to $25 or so. Buy one compatible with the brand of opener you have. Program it on arrival. No big deal.

You can get some of them really cheap on the interwebs. I think I got 2 of them for like 30 bucks. Mine were pretty basic, though.

ETA - I mean the remotes, of course.

While you are picking up a new clicker, get a keypad that mounts on the outside of your garage. Game changer.

Go around the neighborhood with one these and start putting random or even the default codes and see if they open your neighbors’ garage doors.

That will scare them and hopefully change it to a more complex code.

Universals do work, but the procedures to program one varies a lot. I've done two setups recently, one needed nothing more than pressing two buttons together, the other required researching the original owner's manual for the 20+ year old opener and setting dip switches.

Just bought a Nexx system. Easy to install and works from a App so you can control it from anywhere. It also uses geofencing so it’ll open wherever you set up the perimeter. It was $90 but you can download the app and share it will anyone in the family so you’re not buying multiple remotes.
Also works with google home and Alexa.
I love it so far.
