My grandpa and I used to watch Tic Tac Dough game show on channel 9 back in the 80’s. Thought wink was a cool dude.

You younger baws missed it, but we had some great game show hosts in the 70s.

Barker
Rayburn
Martindale
Hall
Moore
Dawson
Marshall

The guy showed up to college in the early 80s with the last name "Martindale" and his teammates nicknamed him "Wink" because it was relevant at the time.

His family will get some lovely parting gifts like a case of Turtle Wax and a year’s supply of Rice. A Roni, the San Francisco treat

Great one.

Wasn't Martindale's show the one where the guy memorized the sequence?
Tic Tac Dough?

I did. Apologies.

Woolery and Barry as well.

And we tend to think of Trebek as more modern, but he started in the 1960s.

No. That was Peter Tomarken and Press Your Luck. Michael Larson was the guy who cracked the code.

Let’s also not forget Jim Perry, first from the original Card Sharks, then with Sale of the Century.

I’d give anything to go back to the 80s when I was sick from school and watching all of this greatness at my grandparents house
