AG said today it will be a $25,000 fine if they remove the monument. A GoFundMe has easily raised that already. I expect the monument will come down tonight or tomorrow.
amazing

Do y'all think this won't happen eventually? Birmingham is easily as left leaning as New Orleans.

Well, if the "curfew" really is in effect, they should be able to clean house down there. ATL is. Lock these motherfrickers up.
I mean, it's over an hour past curfew. Put some actions behind those orders.

Reading the FB comments section is funny. A lot of mad white people over a monument they probably didn't know existed until recently.

I'm trying to think if I've ever seen this monument. My wife is from the Birmingham metro so I spend a lot of time there.

It's in a park where a lot of homeless live. I try to avoid the place.

They supposedly already had a time every night the park closes. But I work downtown and drive past the back side of it on my way home. Several late nights I’ve seen people congregating. And I’ve had the misfortune of going through there during the day. It is the back entrance to the courthouse and I have to go there any time we buy a vehicle to get the initial tags for them. And I’ve renewed my DL a few times there. It’s two blocks from my building so it is convenient.
I had no idea what the monuments and statues were for until they boarded this one up a while back.

Just Google mapped it. We stay in the Westin across the interstate fairly often on holidays when the in laws have a full house. Never knew it was there though.

It isn't about that. Everything that happened after that is his fault. shite was peaceful before he led the pack to the park. It got broke up, he went home, the rest started tearing shite down and attacking journalists. He later would say those people weren't part of the people he talked to. Horse shite. He should be in jail right now.

If you zoom in on this photo, you can see the statue that is being torn down. Straight down 20th street. Taken in 1906.

He’s lost at least 20k followers on FB and it’s still falling. Was 535k last night down to 515k
I never could make it past 30 secs in any of his videos.

Tearing down a monument doesn’t change anything
It doesn’t fix any thing
It doesn’t make anything different
It’s just destruction

looks like a cool time to visit

The city with their heavy equipment still haven't gotten this monument down. They should have let the protesters take it down. It was more entertaining.

That's the funniest part.
