Per the CDC, this no longer counts as a breakthrough infection unless he's hospitalized or dies. If he doesn't, we are not to count this as a covid infection.

Ehhh... could be a false positive. Could also mean he falls into that small percentage of people who can get it after the shot.

1. The vaccines are 90-95% effective so some will still get it

When were they fully vaccinated? That's kind of important. If it was last week, then this isn't big news. If it was a month ago, then he's in that 5-10% that it didn't work for.
Also, the media has been clamoring to find these kinds of stories. They found one in a random pro sports assistant. Glad they get some clicks over this non story.

I’m curious what they define as fully vaccinated, as I’ve seen some differing guidance on that. Technically you’re not fully vaccinated until 14 days post-last shot in your sequence.

The real test is if he shows symptoms. He was tested through contact tracing I imagine.

Doubt it. He was probably tested because MLB tests people nonstop.
