Fudge the airline industry

This pricing tactic appears designed to target business travelers, who often book last-minute and travel alone. Airlines use different fare classes—sets of pricing rules—to sell the same seats at different prices. Now, some of those fare classes are limited to bookings with at least two passengers.

The rationale, according to airline analysts, is straightforward: solo travelers are more likely to be business travelers, who typically book flights with less concern about cost due to corporate budgets. Airlines are using fare rules to target those perceived as less price-sensitive.
Nice. Let’s frick over the non business flyer while we’re at it and also pop the businesses so the higher costs that affect them like airfare increases they can pass along to the average citizen.
frick these assholes.

been going on for over forty years, "yield management"

This is retarded, who books multiple fares? The only people I know that do this are booking for children because they can’t book their own.

Economies of scale and volume pricing makes sense. This however, is not those, no one books airline tickets as a group. I go on a golf trip every year with 11 other guys and most of us take the same flight. We book 12 different fares so we get boned under this model.

I’m not talking about group rates. And the OP is not complaining about group fares LOL

I don't see the White Star Line coming back into existence any time soon.

There is 1 ocean liner that exists solely to transport passengers still in existence.

I saw this same thread on X last night.
There was an example where it was cheaper to buy 2 seats on the exact same flight with fees & taxes than it was for 1 ticket.
If that’s true, I’m gonna start buying 2 tickets on all my flights to keep a buffer from the fatties.

well, if the OP is that fed up with airlines, again, i say you don't HAVE TO fly... take a boat, car, train, bus, monorail, etc... or shut the frick up, pay the money and fly... it's pretty simple really...
