Friday or Monday PTO For July 4th Holiday?

If the holiday falls on Saturday, the observed day is usually Friday. If the holiday is on Sunday, the observed day is usually Monday. At least that's what I've always been accustomed to.

Not necessarily applicable to just FOJ weekend, but if I am ever given a choice, when contemplating a three day weekend- of taking off Friday, or Monday- I always, or at least 95% of the time, choose to take the Monday off.. b/c everyone's usually in a good mood at work on Friday, it feels lighter & looser, it's like a glidepath into the weekend.. Mondays typically suck, so id rather sleep in and do frick-all, all day... the only exception , and the only time to take off on Friday, imo, is during the Fall if you live out of state and are flying or driving to Baton Rouge for a home LSU game.. then you take off work on Fri to travel, and return home on Sun .

If holiday falls on Saturday, we get Friday off. If on Sunday we get Monday off

And this is separate from my 21 days of PTO.

My wife has today off. Since my company is open on weekends, we have tomorrow off.

We got today.

I like Friday off because it fits better with the general workflow. There have been other times I preferred Monday.

I don’t know of any company that gives the Monday off following a Saturday holiday in lieu of the Friday.

We got Friday.

If the Holiday is on the Saturday we get the Friday, if its on the Sunday we get the Monday.

My company closes the whole week of the 4th cuz we’re flush as frick and care about America

We don't get either day off, annoying but so far its pretty slow at work thankfully so feels like a day off just hanging around the house incase an email or two comes in.

Holiday today for my company, but i'm still working a bit this morning before I sign off for the weekend.
