If you spray down with off or permethrin before you go in the woods it helps a lot.. a big batch of red bugs on your nuts sucks..

When I was 16 I took a girl in a wooded area to well, get to know her better and ended up with a ton of bites where the sun don't shine and all over my thighs. Those things are Satan's spawn. I never took my cloths off in a wooded area again.

I remember my first chigger. Camp Avondale, Boy Scouts . 1979. Got a chigger bite under my balls. Did not tell anyone but my dad.

See if the OL has any clear nail polish. It works really well, kills them quickly, and you get a nice shine on the effected areas.
I had them on my legs, where socks gripped to skin. Looked like a tribal band, with them all around in the same area.
