Not sure those containers were full heading back to Singapore
The ship was headed to Sri Lanka

It was headed to Sri Lanka but your point remains.

OMG, the headlights on that bridge as it collapsed. Poor people, I can't even imagine the terror those poor people must have experienced when they felt that bridge collapse from under them. Plus that Baltimore dock was a MAJOR shipping hub in America. Yep, a crippling disaster that will surely sting.
There are preliminary reports the Container Ship lost power shortly before hitting the bridge. How can a huge multi-million dollar ocean going Container Ship loose power?
Regardless, there are some families hurting right now. Prayers for the victims. Prayers for the families.
Incredible, our country is collapsing.......literally.

Ignore Tate’s message. Watch X Video.
No smoke from the stacks. Power goes out. Power returns and tons of smoke. Power goes in and out again before collision.
He says cyber. This seems mechanical and as if backup gens/engines tried to startup but failed.

It can absolutely be cyber, these vessel controls are like your car, but far more complex. Now imagine you lose 24v power in your car while cruising at even 35mph.
The electrical problem manifests in a mechanical problem.

This is Frank Sobotka's fault.

I work in cyber at nuclear plants. This doesn’t seem to be related to a digital failure where you would want power to remain so that you can take control. Simply causing a shutdown could be possible but the likelihood of cyber over mechanical is extremely small.

I’m currently in Savannah and have watched a few ships of that size come through up the river and at least half have escorts of some kind.
Apples and Oranges. Savannah River and Baltimore/Chesapeake Bay waterways are completely different

F1 cars with an army of mechanics and millions of dollars dumped into them lose power all the time. shite happens.

I love seeing these comments on twitter from people who've never driven a boat that size, or a boat at all for that matter.
To quote Jonesy in Hunt for Red October, "a boat that size doesn't exactly stop on a dime".

I never said they were the same. I said it depends on the port/river. Pay attention.

You gotta hope this guy is drunk, someone stole the ship, or he’s getting ship head, otherwise this will go down as a great American frickup
Are you suggesting that if he were drunk or getting a BJ that it would NOT be a great American frickup? Being drunk gives you a pass?

Ship power losses in transit are common, but they’re also uncommon. I was a ship agent for the biggest ship to enter the Port of Houston at the time, and it lost power and hit the mud bank. Joe Pibkic never heard about it, but the USCG did a full investigation before it was allowed to leave.
