Gotcha. The way your post was worded it sounded like things swapped for the Northshore or something.

The NHC track has its dead center about 12 miles west of Hammond Mall.

Thats if it suddenly starts more northward.

Yeah weird. Looks like the sheer is crushing it on the radar.

It has land interaction impacting it now. Radar and satellite show the main band on the NE quadrant ramping up. Likely brown water effect giving it a bump. You could see towers start to go up on radar.

Anyone else crushing food from the freezer today just in case? I got ice, but I can't save everything. Those poor little ice cream sandwiches had no chance. French toast sticks, your time has come.

It's not the angle. I understand that you're saying it's the current position updated with the previous forecast track but that's not it. The forecast track in that graphic is completely different than the previous one.

Late to the party on this one and spent more time dicking with this image than I’d like to admit, but here is the 10 AM track superimposed over that graphic you posted:

It’s not perfect because I couldn’t get the angle from the TV graphic to match exactly, but it seems pretty clear to me that they used the exact same points from the 10 AM NHC update.

The path moved about 12 miles east from where it was crossing
the I-12. I suppose that's insignificant.

Do you think it could cross Lake Pontchartrain or even through NO?

They're following the lowest pressure location of the giant eye, which is the NW portion of the eye.

NWS local forecast for Covington has gone from 20 sustained last night to 60 sustained this morning to 20 sustained this afternoon now back to 60 sustained. Like I said earlier today, that kind of information is useless. If you don't know what the conditions will be, say you don't know. Don't make a wild arse guess and put it out there for people to rely on.
