More intense CBs are appearing atop #Francine’s smaller and tighter core, which should be able to mix out the dry air that has been penetrating for over a day now. If this trend continues, Francine should be able to intensify faster and become a Hurricane either this evening or tonight.

10 miles wide north to south, but 20 east west. very oblong for sure.

18z HAFS-B seems to have locked in on this potentially smaller core.

I think this means it's going to aide in rapid strengthening. Like they feed the hurricane.

Rates are regulated by the state (Entergy LA), and Entergy tallies up all the post-storm efforts/costs, gives it to the regulator, and then it is put on everyone's bills over a period of X years.

Which always works out so well for Entergy since they hardly do any maintenance of the infrastructure.

They stayed in Houma because they had just bought 100 pounds of shrimp and wanted to make sure they didn’t lose them.

I remember that post. Glad they made it. Did the shrimp make it?

Probably shouldn't talk about that just yet.

I didn't argue it's in our best interest.

Katrina put more water on this gulf coast then any other storm i have lived thru. I was born in baton rouge, but have lived in biloxi for last last 25 years. katrina put what 6/8 foot of water starting @ grandisle and the surge even affected mobile/florida. the surge thru th beau was estimated @ 35 ft.. and the eye was 25 miles west of biloxi. i stayed in the kiln for the storm, because i knew my home in gulfport was gonna be a slab.I saw the tidal wave come up into the bay of st louis,it was the prettiest destin looking water i have ever seen in the mississippi sound. ida it was sunny and no surge in biloxi..while yall got hammered.katrina was a once in a lifetime storm for me. ida was a small tight storm..katrina took up the whole gulf @ 1 point before we got lucky and she weakened to a 3 before landfall
