Now, I will say for you to settle down and pay attention. You're off track of what you were getting your panties twisted over.

My FIL was chief of security at the local hospital in Washington parish. The facility had a several bed psych ward. People would sit around watching storm “updates” and eventually just crack over the uncertainty and end up in the psych ward. Really sad situation.

That could be the big issue with power lines - I know my area is full of them

NWS Forcast.
They just lowered the gusts to 60mph.Still too high for my liking but that's progress.

I love how these threads always devolve into posters arguing over semantics and things that really don’t matter.

Glad I bit the bullet and paid to have a dying tree in my backyard removed and had my front yard trimmed up a few months ago

Oak Hills had higher gusts in the spring storms

Gustav absolutely fricked up BR
Remember, Gustav took forever to get thru town, and BR hadn’t had a major storm in a long time so there were tree limbs down all over the place. That won’t be the case here. Best thing we have going and the most consistent thing is that Francine will be moving quickly. 12 hrs after landfall it’ll be near Jackson-ish. It took Ida 14 hours to get to Ponchatoula.
