Could be in for a long night in BR area with all the dead but still standing trees from last years drought.. gonna be a culling of dead trees

My FIL was chief of security at the local hospital in Washington parish. The facility had a several bed psych ward. People would sit around watching storm “updates” and eventually just crack over the uncertainty and end up in the psych ward. Really sad situation.

Glad I bit the bullet and paid to have a dying tree in my backyard removed and had my front yard trimmed up a few months ago

Remember, Gustav took forever to get thru town, and BR hadn’t had a major storm in a long time so there were tree limbs down all over the place. That won’t be the case here. Best thing we have going and the most consistent thing is that Francine will be moving quickly. 12 hrs after landfall it’ll be near Jackson-ish. It took Ida 14 hours to get to Ponchatoula.
