That’s why it took so long for Ida to weaken.

She was over Baton Rouge as Category 1.
Editing to add
Ida made landfall as a Cat 4
I’m not doom casting. (Francine is not Ida.)
Just making the point that storms do take a good bit to weaken over LA

So is Nola fricked? Or are you unsure how bad it’s going to get
I mean fricked as in it’s going to be in the strong portion of the storm. Not sure how intense the storm will be.

TH03 has a love affair with two things:
1. SAL
2. The produce section of his local Albertson's where he manages the produce department

More accurately, a grownup should ALWAYS have a modicum of such on backup because of the thousand things along with hurricanes that could happen.

Ida was doing RI on approach though which will take longer to wind down
This will be weakening on approach

Keep in mind balloons hitting power lines in NOLA knock out power.

School will be closed for at least two days in my parish the week before the regular and extended deadlines for business returns. I’m not complaining, the parish made a timely decision this time at least,, but let’s please not pretend that parents that providing for your kids isn’t part of parenting. That part never stops.
I hear ya but people spending all day posting in this thread shouldn’t be complaining about missing work deadlines

What was the storm that hit the coast in 2020(?) That dissipated almost instantly?
I'm not saying this is gonna be anything like it I just feel stupid not remembering. There was so much on radar, but as soon as it made landfall it just diminished drastically. Might have been Barry, although it did cause flooding in many areas.

I’m in BR, and Gustav tore a dormer off our roof and Ida knocked an 85 foot red oak on us, so they were both bad experiences for me.

On HRRR and GRAF this is looking a lot like Zeta

There are threads arguing about tipping longer than this.

Does it still count if 1/3rd of them are bitching about school closures?
