Pressure up 1 mb to 994 on the Vortex data. Eye went from "ragged" to "somewhat ragged" in the description, and still open to the E. Max winds were 55 mph.

My wife and I filled up our vehicles today. Mostly because there is good chance I’m activated in the next 24-48 hrs and I don’t want her dealing with it by herself after the storm and I don’t want to have to worry about finding an open station when I report in to the unit.

, Zeta rapidly intensified into a category 3 hurricane just before landfall in southeastern Louisiana. Zeta’s fast forward motion brought strong winds well inland into areas of the southeastern United States. The hurricane caused 5 direct fatalities and about $4.4 billion in damage in the United States.

Who cares? Storm popped up pretty quickly caught lots of folks by surprise. I operate under the motto better to be prepared for nothing than being completely fricked by trying to be a hard arse

Plus, it's fuel, water, bread, beer, etc.

It will be used regardless. No downside.

Don't think I've ever seen people this paranoid about a Cat 1 possible 2 storm. Lines for gas and nothing left at the store when I stopped for beer. You would swear it was at Cat 4 coming for us.

Did you even pay attention to what Beryl (a measly cat 1) did to Houston, the 4th largest city in America?

I'm sure he's busy worrying if he buried some bodies deep enough in case any flooding floats them.*

True story… I used to call her the “hot weather girl” when I was a young lad.

Was her last name Lemke or something like that?

I remember a chick weathergirl on there with the last name of Lemke, and wondered if she was related to Mark Lemke of the Braves back then.

As far as panic buying...my old man was out earlier today to pick up a few (non hurricane related) things and said the Winn Dixie and Target in Covington were out of water. Coming home from work today all of the gas stations I passed were busy. Not out to the road lines, but much busier than normal. A couple of stations were out.

TulaneLSU is riding it out at the family compound in North Carolina.

If he hasn't been detained by some task force.

drove to store an hour ago and there’s no one in sight at the same 3 gas stations I pass.

Are you sure they weren’t out of gas. I went to a Shell station near me to get a Gatorade and they were out of gas.

I just filled up at the Shell on Metairie Road. Decent line, but it’s a civilized crowd. Someone was even getting a car wash.

This thing seems like it's been sitting in the same spot on the Brownsville radar for the past 6 hours.
