It is just word association apparently.
Meningitis = Mening...= Meningococcal
Therefore, the only vaccine for meningitis is the meningococcal vaccine.

Four-month old dies from Meningitis, probably gotten from unvaccinated child

OP doesn’t know the difference between “unvaccinated person” (that was the phrase in article) and an unvaccinated child.

I get the importance of the vaccines but I just really hate the accelerated schedule. My kids routinely get some sort of minor sickness (fever, cough, running nose) or general pain around the injection spot within a week of a vaccine.
Dealing with the above when the kid is under 8 weeks old is a pain in the arse. Dealing with that when then are past 6mo is much easier since they are a lot sturdier by then.
My pediatrician doesn’t care for the accelerated schedule especially if the kid won’t be in daycare. In fact, he recommends not getting the Hep B vaccine at birth bc he thinks it’s just unnecessary that early.
Then there is the chicken pox vaccine. The side effects though rare are pretty severe for a disease that parents purposely infected their kids with pre-vaccine just to get it over with.

accelerated schedule
There is no “accelerated schedule”.
There is only the schedule that is backed by the pediatric groups and CDC and the bullshite “delayed” schedule that has zero scientific backing.

The point of vaccines is to induce an immune response.

Scruffy is curious as to the rates of varicella meningitis and death are compared to the rates of the side effects of the vaccine.
9000+ hospitalizations yearly with 100-200 deaths yearly for the virus pre-vaccine, not to mention morbidity.
What is the rate of the side effects?
As a side note, Scruffy never caught chicken pox. He did get the vaccine as a teen though.

anti-vaxxer are losers, spreading diseases to other babies and young children.

How many of you adults are current on your meningitis vaccines?
My doctor is fricking fanatical about vaccines. It seems like every year he's got another one that it's time for. I'm clean, yo.

How come we get our pets vaccinated against rabies, but when I ask the Scruffy doctor about it, he looks at me like I'm nuts?

no,I am trumkin here ,i dont trust phamaceutical co`s no flu shots here, big pharma is immune to prosecution for injury or death from vaccines.

So because you don’t want to be bothered with a baby with basic cold symptoms....you would rather risk them not being protected from some deadly diseases as soon as possible?
Just checking

Understand they are regular side effects but those effects on a 2mo are f’ng brutal but not so much on a 6mo old.
As far as Hep B, why so crucial to get it at birth? It’s mainly transmitted thru sex. I’m not really worried about my infant being sexually active or getting bite by someone that’s infected especially not being in daycare.
As far as chicken pox, I know that getting it as an adult is much much worse than as a child so my kids are definitely eventually getting the vaccine eventually if they don’t contract it first.

What deadly disease are you referring too?
Posted on 7/13/18 at 5:03 pm to STEVED00
Diphtheria, pertussis, haemophilus influenzae type B, pneumococcus, and polio

It isn’t spread just by sex.
Not to mention the extreme rarity of the side effects.
Why wouldn’t you want them to be fully vaccinated against hep b by the time they are 6 mos?

He can’t be bothered dealing with a “sick” baby Scruffy.
Clearly his convenience is more important that preventing a baby from getting a nasty disease. One totally preventable by a vaccine.
