Fort Worth Officer Aaron Dean Charged With Murder

The white Fort Worth police officer who fatally shot a 28-year-old black woman in her home over the weekend has been charged with murder, authorities said Monday.
The officer, Aaron Dean, who resigned earlier in the day, was booked into the Tarrant County Jail, according to police. Bond has been set at $200,000, jail records show.
Authorities moved quickly to arrest Dean after he shot Atatiana Jefferson through a closed window in her Fort Worth home while responding to a welfare call in the early hours of Saturday morning. In fatal officer-involved shootings, police seldom face criminal charges, and they are rarely charged with murder.

I will be shocked if they are able to convict him of murder for an on-duty shooting, even if it seems to be a bad shoot. This seems like more of a reaction to public outrage than anything else and as much as the media and SJWs want to push it, I do not believe race had anything to do with this case.

Why did he resign?
He knew he was going to be fired. I guess he decided to forgo the internal investigation and focus on defending himself from an inevitable criminal trial.

Correct. My personal opinion is that he was spooked and lost his trigger discipline and shot.

He shot a woman in her house and has yet to give a reason why.

Which is smart on his part. He knows he fricked up and will likely have to go through a criminal trial. Why should he give prosecutors anything to work with?

The thin blue line will make sure everything works out

Amber Guyger is still waiting for that thin blue line to appear.

Yup- can’t blame him for not talking. Seriously blame him for shooting though.

Good he needs to be treated like the rest of us if we did something stupid like that.

I see the Thin Blue Lyin' talking points have been forwarded by great-aunts and uncles.

Why? There's been two or three others in DFW charged for murder for a shooting on duty over the last few years.

She got ten years and will probably be out in five for walking into a man’s apartment unannounced and shooting him. I’d say the thin blue line worked for her just fine

So is Roy Oliver, Ken Johnson, and Michael Dunn.

He was on-duty, but the shooting was not justified in any way. He crept up in her backyard and shot her through a window with no warning or identifying himself as a police officer. They could have went to her front door and rang the bell like a non-criminal welfare check should be done. And race does have something to do with this seeing as he killed a defenseless black woman in her own home without provocation or justification.

Nope.
Will serve 7-8.
This guy deserves at least the same. Why is his gun drawn on a welfare check? You knock on the door and wait for an answer, not sneak around the yard looking in Windows and shooting.
If I did that, I'd be charged with murder hoping my lawyer could get me negligent homicide.
All you peeps in the Dallas/Fort Worth area: watch out. You are not safe in your homes apparently. Bit it's not the typical criminals you need to fear. It's the "protectors".

I'd love to see the stats on people killed by the police in Dallas in 2019 vs the general public. You and I both know what they would look like though

She was off duty when it happened, as much as DPD did everything they could to muddy that water up during investigation.
