I hate this word. Casualties to me always means dead. Did I learn this wrong or has the meaning changed over time?
I used to think that also, but old me and current you are/were both wrong.
Fatality is dead.
Casualty is injured and or dead.

Headlines on Google search still saying no fatalities, 5 hospitalizations. Hopefully they all come out alive and unencumbered.
Also, there's some lakes on Ft Stewart that are trophy managed for bass by the GA DNR that are open to the public under certain hours/restrictions, if anyone is on their way to Savannah on I-16 and has a few hours to kill and you have a buzz bait.

This is now an epidemic in the military. Any one who asks for a waiver pretty much gets it

I think this is getting rolled back.
New Army Shaving Policy Will Allow Soldiers with Skin Condition that Affects Mostly Black Men to Be Kicked Out
quote:
The Army move to clamp down on shaving waivers follows Hegseth, who has protested shaving waivers, ordering a sweeping review of grooming standards across the services.
He has claimed that standards have fallen in recent years and damaged the military. "We kicked out good soldiers for having naked women tattooed on their arms," Hegseth said in a March statement criticizing what he characterized as bad policy decisions by past administrations.
"And today we are relaxing the standards on shaving, dreadlocks, man buns, and straight-up obesity. Piece by piece, the standard had to go -- because of equity."
