What will be truly telling about La.is when all his former arse lickers start eulogizing his as if he was the best thing that ever happened to the State.

That guy had a very strange following of hardcore fans. He was in some ways an extremely corrupt, "good ole boy" version of Trump. He had a lot of achievements but his corruption is what set the state back a long way.
I think the low point in Louisiana politics was "vote for the crook, it's important"....when Edwards faced off against a Klansman for governor. If you didn't know that Louisiana would still be struggling 30 years later when that happened, your eyes must have been closed. Louisiana was trying to decide between Edwards and Duke while Texas was building highways and schools.
Edwards would have gone much farther in politics had he not been such a crook. Or at least not been so overt about it to the point of getting caught. That worked for Clinton and Long. But it landed Edwards in jail.

I wonder if Edwards will get retribution from the grave with a "hit" taking out Bobby Guidry.

Edwards looks like an old Korean woman in that picture.

He put out misleading press releases until the end. Stayed true to himself.
I used to speak to him in the line at Subway next to Pelican Point weekly.
Didn't have Nymeria yet, so couldn't show him pictures.
Sucks Governor Edwards died without ever knowing Nymeria.

State employees loved him. He got them an extra 500 bones a year and to this day they'll say he was the best Gov La ever had.
Think about that the next time you're waiting for a govt service. It only takes $500.

Stole more money than anyone in Louisiana history more than likely. The goat “Louisiana” politician

I have nothing good to say about Edwards. The state would have been so much better off today had he never left Marksville.

Penicillin will clear that right up.

I'm sure his wife is elated.

One of the most fricked up things about this state. They couldn't look past an entertaining, friendly personality and see the corrupted politician underneath.
