The former Metro Council member confirms he is behind on his city-parish sales taxes but says he’s confident he will be able to pay the debt off before the end of the year. If not, he faces revocation of his liquor license.
I had it from a very reliable source (bar owner friend of mine in the know) that 1913 bounced a 10k check to a local distributor last year. They lost their license on a Tuesday, but Delgado was able to use his stroke as a Metro Councilman to get it back and have them up and running again by Thursday night. No word on whether Delgado ever made good on the bounced check, but I know they were cut off from said distributor for a while and had to use somewhat questionable means to keep the booze flowing.
This tax thing is really no shock. The guy is a second-rate dirtbag.

He seems to have a lot of money issues.
I have my own suspicions. He fits a certain profile.

Crooked? Because he can't pay? If he doesn't have the money what should he do?
He took patrons money that they paid for sales taxes. That money in effect became taxpayer's money. Yes, our money.
What he did was indefensible, and maybe not legally a fraud, it certainly should be.
I bet he managed to pay himself.

Well he does seem to be affording his ritzy lifestyle and gambling addiction without issue, and I wouldn't think it's from the Delgado Law Firm
This guy's over.

Happys is pretty much all I ever go downtown for. City Bar seems packed on F/S .. just not my crowd. Otherwise, does anyone else really do that well down there?
I like Blend and I like Bald Eagle but neither get all that much. Hueys is shite, Draft House ain’t too great, Driftwood could be really good but they don’t seem to get much business ..

And people like this who deal in cash probably skim off the top, and who really knows how much sales tax they actually collect?

25 years ago, the (dearly departed) Caterie used to have 2 cash registers in the back bar...only one of which the IRS/state/EBRP knew anything about.

In most of the bars I worked at they had 2 safes. 1 used by head bartenders, managers, etc. For the nightly drops and cash banks.
The other was usually only accessed by the owners and whoever ran the bar (GM/operating owner). On big cash nights the cash deposits (multiple 100s in my case) would go into the "extra safe" anything that could be paid for in cash and, in some cases, owner spending money was pulled out of this safe.

Apparently he lives on/around LSU lakes in a $900,000 house. But I wonder why his house is in his wife's name under her maiden name?
Probably to keep the creditors he's screwed over from seizing it.

He posted some photo of the inside of his house the other day. I was thinking it looked like a shite hole: ceramic tile in bedrooms and no crown molding.

She went by Possa (her maiden name) the whole time they were married and she was the breadwinner of the two. Not sure if she bought him out of the house and stayed there, or if they sold it after the divorce. Since the divorce, I heard he was living at his mom's house for a while until he got his own place.

Filed last year, it's official now.
ETA: it's common knowledge that she caught him in one of his bars, screwing a bartender in the back. That was clearly the final straw.

Once she saw she wasn't gonna be BR's First Lady, I guess she wised up and said enough.
