Free Atkins diet bars came in some plus-size orders, shoppers reported on social media with many saying they felt "fat-shamed" and "body-shamed."

"My friend bought plus size clothes from @Forever21 and they gave her a sample item... the sample item was an Atkins bar!! Are you kidding me?!? #forever21 #shopping #plussize #fahion #bodyshaming #getthisreported," Twitter user @melodycgreen tweeted.

Forever 21 confirmed in a statement to USA TODAY that samples are occasionally included with online orders but that this sample was included in orders "across all sizes and categories." The samples have "since been removed," Forever 21 said.

What’s even more sad is that macy’s Is actually giving into this crap.

At some point, you just have to take a stand and say, deal with it

Macy’s just supplies a product. You could choose not to buy it but no, the mere presence of it offended people.

And if this sample went out in all their sizes and you got offended it came with your size, maybe you should look in the mirror

The fact that a store is getting ridiculed for promoting healthy living it's quite the embarrassment on the part of the publication

At a certain point, print media needs to decide that "stories" are not stories

You'd think fatties would appreciate the free food with their orders.

Here is the biggest fat shaming a retail store can do, they don’t have your size.

I can remember when Stores like Abercrombie and Fitch, and American Eagle wouldn’t carry any size past a 38 or 40 waist and XxL sizes. They may still do that.

Places like Dillard’s would just make you go to their Big and Tall section. A smaller section and fewer brands, but where else are you going to find a 38x36 or a shirt XLT.

Outrage is money. Whether it be from fatties or anti-fatties. They just want you to click either way. It's very effective.

When is one of these companies going to be smart and say, yep....we did that intentionally.

It seems like they will lose the business of the fatties and sjw types still. Then they will lose business of those who wish they would have continued with this. Or maybe there will absolutely be no impact at all, probably more likely... people just want to have a reaction to something that won't even be remembered by the end of the day.

I think this country needs to pick one day of the month and have a real good cry time, so that everyone can get all this victim shite out of their system. We could have some nationally recognize psychologist to get on TV and lead the nation in crying it out. It could be a part of the national emergency alert system which takes over every station
