Ford Recalls F-150 and Super Duty Pickup Trucks for Engine-Block Fire Risk

You'd have to be a pretty wimpy baw to have optioned for a block heater in this part of the world.

Not sure anyone in La needs to worry about this. Not sure if mine even has a block heater on it. If it does, this makes 2 recalls on my truck in the past 6 month that cause it to catch fire. I'll probably take a look at the Rams for my next truck

IIRC block heater was optional, and if it was then I know I didn't add it.

Every diesel motor nowadays has an engine block heater built into it. The cord is optional.

I don’t think many of them have them now. Newer diesels have less a need for them compared to years ago.

I know I bought a f250 last year in Louisiana and had to get one installed in North Dakota where I was working because I needed it.
