Ford Excursion or Hummer (H1 or H2), which has a more viable chance to make a comeback?

Are these vehicles done for good, or do you see one (or both) returning to production one day?

I have read the excursion is coming back into production.

I saw a jacked up excursion yesterday and thought to myself "why would anyone want that?"

Just like the Bronco?

Considering the Explorer seems much bigger than previous Explorers, and the Expedition is bigger than the Explorer, don't we have the Excursion almost by default, except the diesel component?

If Ford can retail the excursion for 10k or so less than a suburban it would do well

Agreed

I will go Excursion since Ford still exists and all.

Because it was probably a diesel and still getting 18mpg.

Seriously?

Both are done for good thanks to the minimum average MPG each manufacturer must meet according to federal law (CAFE)

Done for good. Too heavy for MPG. Trump admin wanted to scale back CAFE (Corporate Average Economy) that Obama had pushed out to 50mpg by 2025 (I think) but the car makers and their suppliers are pushing back because they have invested so much in light weighing and electrification (hybrids and straight electric) that it looks doubtful. Vehicles are going to change a lot soon. Smaller and more expensive.

No. THE Expedition isn't built on an HD frame, nor does it have HD towing capabilities. And the new one still won't be as large as an Excursion, although it is slightly wider.

Just gimme the damn Bronco already!

I think Ford added an extended expedition to fill that spot.

Ford was thinking about getting rid of the expedition all together since Chevy/GMC kills them in that segment, so its very doubtful they will ever bring back a heavier duty expedition XL that costs more.

Done for good.
Could be a fake news link but.....
2018 Excursion
quote:
Because of that the rumored 2018 Ford Excursion might change all of that. Like the original, the 2018 version of the SUV is expected to be based on the same chassis as the F-250 Super Duty
