I called 888-215-8474

Call and tell them if they can't lower it, you're switching. If they say they don't care, which they won't, you don't have to switch, they won't cut your shite off.

They gonna switch you to the loyalty people and they will make it work. When they connected me to her, she said so I hear you wanna switch, I said no I AM switching if you don't lower it closer to $200. They'll make it work. I didn't have to sign a contract or anything, but the deal is only for 1 year, so I'll have to call back in a year and threaten them again.

OK, thanks.

JM, when you stream from Apple, will you get the broadcast from the SEC Network? With the same announcers, etc.

As far as I know.

I find its a little delayed but if I don't come on here in the in-game threads, there's no spoilers.

For the initial cost it has paid for itself tenfold.

Well I dont see how thats possible. My bill is typically $140/month. I only have one HD box however and it's not a DVR (I dont get why people need this?). I have all HD channels, Sports Package, Entertainment Package (7 Encore Channels, Outdoor, Cooking, VH1 Classic, etc), but no HBO and no Cinemax. Also have the 2nd tier internet. Why would you pay $300/month to watch TV?

Edit: I can understand why a DVR box would be desired, but why would you need multiple DVR's and then one in every room at that?

1. I don't pay $300.00 to watch TV. It includes Internet and phone. I even broke it down in my post.

2. I don't have multiple DVR's. Read my post. I have one DVR, mainly for kids. I have multiple boxes, for the different rooms where there are TV's. A total of 3 boxes, only one has a DVR.

3. You don't think it's possible for a cable company over the last 3 years to keep raising your prices on your bill? Do you want me to post my account login info for you to confirm?

4. Did you even read my post?

Uverse breh

I just checked online with Uverse. When I plug in my address, I get this:

Sorry, U-verse TV isn't available at this address.

WTF? The only thing I can get with them is internet. How is that possible?

Oh well, thanks for nothing, breh.

You a Yankee breh?

Eta: my Cox bundle was $180 with one box, no dvr, shitty basic cable. 30/3 inet, and Home phone.
Uverse is $80 for cheap 6/1ish inet, and cable with alot more channels - way way more sports channels with the u200 package..4 dvr channels (can watch/record 4 things at once..)

Would also like to add that Cox price number was constantly fluctuating upward every 6 months or so when the deal I called and talked them down on instead of leaving was up..and over..

But I have called and bitched and got it lowered.

I need to do that again.

UVerse TV requires being able to feed you a certain bandwidth..You can call and ask them to come to your house and verify though if you really want the service

OK, thanks. I guess if Cox doesn't do something, I'll consider it. My only other choices would be Direct TV, Dish Network, or just going with something like Apple TV I guess?

They did this for me for a few years, then they seemed to lose interest in lowering it any further. They eventually said, "well sorry, we tried." Switching to UVerse has been the best thing I ever did. TV is so much better it's not even close. Price is over 40 bucks cheaper and I get way more with UVerse. Customer service has been great too so far. Cox can suck it.

Is it not assumed that the "Cox Bill" is the cable bill? Obviously if you have cox, you are getting internet through them, as am I, and pretty much anyone else that has Cox right?

I wasnt responding to you about multiple DVR's, but to the various post's in this thread with some people having 3-4 DVR boxes lol. Why? I dont get it. Sorry, I should have been more clear as I was just speaking in general.

Of course I do. No, your login info is not necessary. I believe you. It's amazing that youre paying that much. Why would you pay that much? I can watch just about anything I want on TV, in HD (save HBO and Cinemax) and I have high-speed internet for less than half the price youre paying. That's my point, your bill is an outlier and I dont think you should be getting screwed like you so clearly are.

for those of you that shite on DVR, i can't see how anyone could live without it. I record all my network shows so i can watch commercial free. Even with sports, i like to rewind to see plays etc. Not sure i can remember how shitty it was before this invention.
