Get auto insurance for it. A lady decided not to see us, while we were both stopped at a stop sign, and ran into us with her small SUV. We were ticketed for not having auto insurance on the GC. $432.
Complete PITA to get the cart fixed under her insurance...so while it sits indefinitely at the shop we to pay $80 for the insurance, and since we did not have it at the time of the accident, $432 for the ticket.

Who'd have thunk a motorized vehicle operating on a public roadway might require insurance

Is this golf cart de-badged?

Does a GC have a license to be on the road?

Stop driving golf carts where SUVs go

Yeah - a vehicle on a road should be insured.

This completely depends on where you are
If you are in the Coachella Valley driving around in a golf cart you absolutely do not need insurance. They even mark off roads for just such purpose, including a few US highways

Are they even legal on the road in Louisiana outside of Grande Isle?

The damn thing can’t break 15 mph going down hill.

But it could be involved in an at fault accident.

They have permits...but they don’t even come with a title.

Well no shite. Apparently it’s not a ticketable offense to run over one either.

Yea, I got a ‘road worthiness’ package put on a retired golf course cart. Brake lights, turn signals, rear view, lights...and a back seat.
